Endorsement of Scheduled Medications (Eligible Midwife)

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia has accredited two courses within our postgraduate programs as an Education Program Leading to Endorsement of Scheduled Medications (Eligible Midwife).

The two accredited courses are offered in the Advanced Practice Midwifery field of study. They are:

MIDW7200 Midwifery Advanced Practice 1

This course focuses on health assessment, diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making. The course is offered externally, delivered online and is a prerequisite for MIDW7201.

MIDW7201 Midwifery Advanced Practice 2

This course focuses on quality use of medicines and clinical pharmacology for midwifery practice. The pharmacology component of the course is undertaken in collaboration with the UQ School of Pharmacy. This course is offered externally but includes a one week residential school at a UQ campus in Brisbane. The student is responsible  for all travel and accommodation costs.
Midwives who successfully complete these two courses, and meet the other necessary requirements for eligibility, may apply for endorsement for scheduled medicines to AHPRA.
