In 2023 the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery and Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery will transition to a new curriculum.

Why change the programs?

Every five years the accreditation councils for Nursing and Midwifery require us to review our programs to make sure that they continue to be fit for purpose. In our review we focus on ensuring that our programs represent contemporary nursing and midwifery practice, that our curriculum responds to emerging, local, national, and global health priorities, and that it increases the demand for UQ graduate nurses and midwives. As part of the review process, we have consulted with students and key stake holders. The changes we have made address the feedback that we have received to strengthen our programs and make them more responsive and relevant to the contemporary health priorities and context.
