500+ placement hours

Nursing and midwifery students at UQ gain valuable clinical experience starting from Year 1. Placements are available at various Hospital and Health Services (HHS) locations, including hospitals in the greater Brisbane area and Queensland’s Translational Research Institute.

Social work students also have diverse placement options, spanning urban, rural, remote, interstate, and international settings.

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work offers several ways for students to develop a global perspective and appreciate cultural diversity through academic and clinical immersion.
