Whilst remaining employed within your clinical area throughout the duration of study, engage in clinically relevant content to build capacity and skill through the completion of 300 hours of dedicated supernumerary integrated professional practice as part of the program under the guidance of a dedicated clinical support team.

How to Apply
Students should complete the Master of Nurse Practitioner Application Pack (PDF) and submit it along with the required supporting documents (listed below) via the online portal. The program code for the Master of Nurse Practitioner is 5677.
Documents to be submitted with your application:
- Completed Application Pack
- Certified copies of your Academic Transcripts (Certified by Justice of the Peace or Commissioners for Declarations).
- Evidence of your current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Curriculum Vitae – this should be current and include relevant work experience with dates and whether employment was full or part-time.
- Evidence of active involvement in professional activity.
Clinical Support Team (CST)
The UQ program requests that CST members and the CM be employed at a minimum of 0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE) to enable consistent supervision and assessment in practice. The nurse practitioner student will be working closely with their team to expand and further develop their clinical skills, decision-making, critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning, patient management, and professional practice.
CST should include a Nurse Practitioner, Senior Medical Officer, and a Pharmacist with experience in the education of advanced practice roles.
Advanced Practice
As per the NMBA - Nurses practising at an advanced practice level incorporate professional leadership, education, research and support systems into their practice. Advanced practice in nursing is demonstrated by a level of practice and is not a job title or level of remuneration. Applicants must have worked in advanced practice within the last 6 years to qualify as meeting this entry requirement.
