Timetable information for BN, BMid and BN/BMid - Semester 1
The below information relates to the new nursing and midwifery curriculum. Please select from the below links to find semester 1 timetable information relevant to the specific program and year level.
Bachelor of Nursing – Year 1, Sem 1
Courses: BIOM1060, NUMW1102, NURS1101, NURS1103
Full time program with teaching activities on campus spread over 4-5 days. Days have different timetables and not every class is taught every week, so each week is different.
There is an intensive block placement of 2 weeks. Roughly half of the students (Group A) undertake their placement in Weeks 8 + 9, while Group B undertake their placement in Weeks 10 + 11. No classes are scheduled for students while on placement.

The two placement days are Tuesday (or Thursday), and Wednesday. Students who opt for classes on Tuesdays will have Wednesdays and Thursdays free for placement; students who opt for classes on Thursdays will have Tuesday and Wednesday free for placement.

Bachelor of Midwifery – Year 1, Sem 1

Full time program with teaching activities on campus spread over 3 days most weeks (Monday --Wednesday), and up to 2 days on placement a week (Thursday – Friday).
Each course has its own timetable, but not all classes meet every week.
The clinical placement is integrated throughout the semester, starting in Week 5. These shifts are not in the timetable but your roster will be sent to each student approximately 2 weeks prior to the placement.
Most of the compulsory Manual Handling workshops are timetable in Orientation Week, and are a prerequisite for placement.

This year is similar to the Bachelor of Midwifery Year 2, Semester 1, except that students enrol in MIDW3105 instead of NUMW2101.
Full time program comprising teaching activities on campus spread over 3-4 days, and 15 clinical shifts over 2 days of placement most weeks. Not every class is taught every week, so each week is different. Most weeks classes on campus are Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mostly for placement although there are some classes scheduled on these days towards the end of semester. Weekend shifts are available depending on hospital.
The clinical placement is integrated throughout the semester starting in Week 2. These shifts are not in the timetable but the shifts roster will be sent to each student approximately 2 weeks before the placement.
