Dr Deborah Walsh is well placed to share her knowledge and skill in this area as she has over 20 years of practice experience in the field of domestic and family violence.Deb is a domestic and family violence specialist practitioner and researcher.

She developed one of Australia’s first risk assessment frameworks for use in family violence work and continues to provide training and consultancy to the health and welfare sector in Australia.

 

 

 

 

'Working with Domestic Violence: Contexts and Frameworks for Practice' a text book for human service, counselling and allied health students that provides foundational knowledge and skills to work effectively with domestic violence. 

Assessing risk in this situation takes skill and expertise and this book offers a well-developed framework for practitioners to use in this context.  There are practice tips and case examples designed to help the emerging practitioner to ground their knowledge in real life scenarios that will confront them in practice.

There are exercises and extra reading that will enhance the learning gained while using this book.
