In 2022, a Parents' Rights Charter for families involved with child protection system was introduced in Queensland. University of Queensland Social Work and Legal Scholars have conducted a study on the views of lawyers and family support practitioners on the importance of a human rights perspective in child protection, and the opportunities and challenges for recognising the rights of families.

Join Professor Karen Healy, Dr Jemma Venables, and Kate Thompson from the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, and Professor Tamara Walsh from the School of Law, as they present findings of their study.

Join us for a lively presentation and discussion of the question: 'What needs to happen to make the Parents' Rights Charter a reality?'
