Clinical placements
Bachelor of Nursing
Placements vary each year but may include the following locations:
- St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside
- Ipswich Hospital
- Redland Hospital / Logan Hospital
- Mater South Brisbane
- QE2 Hospital
Final-year elective
Students in their final year of study may have the opportunity to undertake a clinical elective in a specialty nursing area of your choice. Electives may be undertaken at any of the clinical schools, other hospitals or healthcare organisations and settings, subject to availability.
Electives are capacity dependent and may be undertaken in the following areas relative to your program:
- Acute Medical/Surgical
- Aged Care
- Community Health
- Paediatric Care
- Indigenous Health
- Mental Health
- Palliative Care Nursing
- Rural Health
- Specialty areas such as Emergency, Intensive Care and Theatre
Bachelor of Midwifery
Placements in the Midwifery program are located in a range of clinical settings that includes hospitals and a variety of health care organisations including locations outside of southeast Queensland. Students will undertake an immersive placement in rural or regional communities and International placements are also available.

- Southeast Queensland
- Rural Queensland
- Regional Queensland
- Northern New South Wales
Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery (dual degree)
Placements in this program are located in a range of clinical settings that includes hospitals and a variety of health care organisations including locations outside of southeast Queensland. Students will undertake an immersive placement in rural or regional communities and International placements are also available.

Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry)
